A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO DR. MABLE K. HARALSON, DIRECTOR OF THE PIEDMONT AREA CONSORTIUM FOR TECH PREP, ON THE OCCASION OF RECEIVING THE 1997 AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES' (AACC) PARNELL TECH PREP NATIONAL ASSOCIATE DEGREE AWARD ON APRIL 14, 1997.

Whereas, the members of the Senate learned that Dr. Mable K. Haralson, Director of the Piedmont Area Consortium's Tech Prep Program, was the 1997 recipient the American Association of Community Colleges' (AACC) Parnell Tech Prep National Associate Degree Award on April 14, 1997, in Anaheim, California; and

Whereas, Dr. Haralson has made an invaluable contribution to the educational system of our State through the Tech Prep Consortium team in Greenwood, South Carolina; and

Whereas, Dr. Haralson has helped make Piedmont Technical College one of only three technical colleges recognized throughout the nation for Tech Prep achievement; and

Whereas, Dr. Haralson was also the proud recipient of the Barbara H. James Award on July 30, 1996, as a result of her dedicated and devoted support to Tech Prep in South Carolina; and

Whereas, the members of the Senate, by this resolution, recognize and thank Dr. Haralson for the contributions she has made on behalf of students, parents, educators and members of the business community throughout the State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina hereby extend congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Mable K. Haralson for receiving the 1997 American Association of Community Colleges' (AACC) Parnell Tech Prep National Associate Degree Award.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Mable K. Haralson.
