AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTIONS 6-7-15 AND 6-29-715 SO AS TO PROHIBIT A ZONING ORDINANCE OF A MUNICIPALITY OR COUNTY FROM PROHIBITING CHURCH-RELATED ACTIVITIES IN A SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Certain zoning ordinance prohibited
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
Section 6-7-15. (A) For purposes of this section, 'church-related activities' does not include regularly scheduled worship services.
(B) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no zoning ordinance of a municipality or county may prohibit church-related activities in a single-family residence.

SECTION 2. Chapter 29, Title 6 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 6-29-715. (A) For purposes of this section, 'church-related activities' does not include regularly scheduled worship services.
(B) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no zoning ordinance of a municipality or county may prohibit church-related activities in a single-family residence."
Time effective
SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
