TO PROVIDE FOR THE ELECTION OF A SUCCESSOR TO A MEMBER OF THE LEGISLATIVE AUDIT COUNCIL WHOSE TERM EXPIRED ON MAY 10, 1997, AND TO FILL THE VACANCY, CURRENTLY FILLED ON AN INTERIM BASIS, CREATED BY THE DEATH OF THE HONORABLE JULIAN B. WRIGHT OF BENNETTSVILLE, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THESE ELECTIONS TO FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY THE NEXT JOINT ASSEMBLY FOR THE ELECTION OF JUDGES.
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the Senate and the House of Representatives shall meet in joint assembly in the Hall of the House of Representatives immediately following the next joint assembly scheduled for the election of judges to elect a successor to the Honorable Dill Blackwell, Chairman of the Legislative Audit Council, whose term expired on May 10, 1997, and to elect a successor to fill the unexpired term of the late Julian B. Wright, currently succeeded by the Honorable Nancy D. Hawk of Charleston pursuant to an interim appointment.
