A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE STATE BOARD OF PHARMACY, TO CONDUCT A STUDY TO ASCERTAIN THE COST OF FILLING A PRESCRIPTION AND TO REPORT TO THE MEDICAL, MILITARY, PUBLIC AND MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE AND THE SENATE MEDICAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE BEFORE JANUARY 1, 1999.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The Department of Health and Human Services, in conjunction with the State Board of Pharmacy, shall conduct a study to ascertain the cost of filling a prescription. The department and the state board shall submit their findings to the House Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs Committee and the Senate Medical Affairs Committee before January 1, 1999.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
