A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

THAT THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY CONGRATULATE DAYCO WALTERBORO ON TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF OUTSTANDING INDUSTRY ACHIEVEMENT ON THE OCCASION OF THE PLANT'S TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION.

Whereas, Dayco Walterboro celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary on June 13, 1998; and

Whereas, Dayco Walterboro began manufacturing Raw Edge belts in June of 1973 with two building lines; and

Whereas, Dayco Walterboro expanded from its initial two building lines to five building lines by 1977; and

Whereas, Dayco Walterboro has received numerous awards from automotive companies including the Ford Q-1 award in 1984, Chrysler's Quality Excellence Award in 1988, and the Mark of Excellence from General Motors in 1989; and

Whereas, Dayco Walterboro was recognized in 1987 by Caterpillar as a Certified Supplier; and

Whereas, Dayco Walterboro achieved QS-9000 registration in 1997, giving the plant worldwide recognition; and

Whereas, most recently, in 1998, Dayco Walterboro became the first Mark IV facility to achieve ISO 14001 registration; and

Whereas, Dayco Walterboro became an all-salaried workforce in 1990; and

Whereas, Dayco Walterboro currently has 304 hard-working and dedicated employees who have contributed greatly to the plant's longstanding success. Now therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Dayco Walterboro on twenty-five years of outstanding industry achievement on the occasion of the plant's twenty-fifth anniversary celebration.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to

Dayco Walterboro.
