A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-3-117 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A MOTOR VEHICLE OVER THIRTY YEARS OLD MAY BEAR A SOUTH CAROLINA LICENSE PLATE OF THE MODEL YEAR OF THE VEHICLE UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 56-3-117. A motor vehicle over thirty years old and used for general transportation may bear the license plate of the vehicles's model year instead of its current registration plate, if the current registration plate is maintained within the motor vehicle and produced upon request of a law enforcement officer."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
