A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-1-1040 SO AS TO PROHIBIT FUNDS APPROPRIATED BY OR PERSONNEL EMPLOYED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FROM BEING USED TO FACILITATE THE ACQUISITION, TRANSPORTATION, AND DELIVERY OF THE CONFEDERATE BATTLE FLAG TO MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OR THEIR CONSTITUENTS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 1-1-1040. No funds appropriated by the General Assembly nor personnel employed by the General Assembly may be used for the acquisition, transportation, and delivery of the Confederate Battle Flag to members of the General Assembly or their constituents."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
