A SENATE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF FRANCES G. WANNAMAKER OF ST. MATTHEWS, AND EXTENDING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

Whereas, Frances G. Wannamaker of St. Matthews has died at the age of seventy-six; and

Whereas, Mrs. Wannamaker was born in Aiken and graduated from high school in Wilson, North Carolina, and from the St. Francis Xavier Hospital School of Nursing in Charleston; and

Whereas, she was dedicated to the nursing profession and was widely known for her work with the Calhoun County Health Department and the Orangeburg Cancer Clinic; and

Whereas, she was a courageous founding member of the modern era Republican Party of Calhoun County in the development of today's two-party system; and

Whereas, she was an outstanding individual who was admired and loved by all who knew her, and her presence will be greatly missed; and

Whereas, we want her family and her many friends to know that they have our deepest sympathy and are uppermost in our thoughts. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of Frances G. Wannamaker of St. Matthews and extend deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
