A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 24-3-530, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE IMPOSITION OF CAPITAL PUNISHMENT BY ELECTROCUTION OR LETHAL INJECTION, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS MUST ADMINISTER A SENTENCE OF DEATH AT ONE O'CLOCK P.M.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 24-3-530 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 108 of 1995, is further amended by adding at the end:

"(D) The Director of the Department of Corrections must administer a death sentence at one o'clock p.m. on the execution date."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
