TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING INVENTORIES (REPEAL), DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1995, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to Accounting and Reporting Inventories (Repeal), designated as Regulation Document Number 1995, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
The repeal of Regulation 43-174, Accounting and Reporting Inventories, will allow the State Board of Education to eliminate unnecessary regulations where possible. This regulation requires that school districts maintain accurate inventory records of all equipment and real property. Necessary criteria in this regulation will be addressed in amended Regulation 43-172, Accounting and Reporting.
