A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF EDWIN CRAIG WALL, JR., OF CONWAY, ONE OF THE PALMETTO STATE'S LEADING BUSINESSMEN, AND EXTENDING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly received with shock and tremendous sadness the news of the sudden and untimely death of Edwin Craig Wall, Jr., of Conway; Mr. Wall died Wednesday, March 5, 1997, in Charlotte of an apparent heart attack; and

Whereas, Craig Wall was one of the most accomplished and influential members of the Palmetto State's business community; he was a leader in commercial development along the Grand Strand; he was a philanthropist and civic leader and a member of a number of important corporate boards; he was well-known and deeply admired throughout South Carolina and across the Southeast for his knowledge, dedication, hard work, and business skill and success; he gave very generously of his time, talents and energy to his community, State, and region; he was an outstanding individual, and his presence will be missed greatly; and

Whereas, we want Craig Wall's family and many friends to know that they are uppermost in our thoughts and have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express profound sorrow at the death of Edwin Craig Wall, Jr., of Conway, one of the Palmetto State's leading businessmen, and extend deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
