TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, LICENSING AND REGULATION, DIVISION OF LABOR, RELATING TO CHILD LABOR, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2143, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Division of Labor, relating to child labor, designated as Regulation Document Number 2143, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

Revisions are being considered that will delete reference to the Apprenticeship Council; will clarify language concerning the age of employment of minors ages fifteen and sixteen; will update and clearly define the period of summer work; and will remove the requirement for an employer to have a certificate on file, issued by the Department of Labor, showing a person is above the oppressive child labor age.
