TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO PERSONNEL RECORDS (REPEAL), DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2004, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the State Board of Education, relating to Personnel Records (Repeal), designated as Regulation Document Number 2004, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
The repeal of Regulation 43-202, Personnel Records, will allow the State Board of Education to eliminate unnecessary regulations where possible. This regulation requires school districts to maintain accurate personnel records and submit required staff information to the State Department of Education, Office of Finance. This regulation is no longer needed. Criteria in this regulation are incorporated in amended Regulation 43-172, Accounting and Reporting.
