TO RECOGNIZE LIEUTENANT MARTHA HUNT OF THE GEORGETOWN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT FOR HER RECEIPT OF THE 1997 SILVER SCALES OF JUSTICE CRIMINAL JUSTICE AWARD FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA VICTIM ASSISTANCE NETWORK.
Whereas, Martha Hunt is a Lieutenant with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Department; and
Whereas, she has assumed the role of victim advocate for the department; and
Whereas, she has performed her official duties as investigator, as well as her unofficial duties as advocate for victims of crime in an exemplary manner; and
Whereas, she has made herself available to victims of all ages and backgrounds on a twenty-four-hour-a-day basis; and
Whereas, she has served those victims with professionalism and compassion; and
Whereas, she has made a positive impact on the sense of justice victims feel after their experiences with law enforcement and the legal system; and
Whereas, the South Carolina Victim Assistance Network has honored Lieutenant Martha Hunt of the Georgetown County Sheriff's Department for her outstanding service to the victims of crime by awarding her a 1997 Silver Scales of Justice Criminal Justice Award. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly recognize Lieutenant Martha Hunt of the Georgetown County Sheriff's Department for her receipt of the 1997 Silver Scales of Justice Criminal Justice Award and her outstanding service to victims of crime.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Lieutenant Hunt.
