A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-5-945 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SHALL NOT REMOVE CERTAIN TRAFFIC-CONTROL SIGNALS IN ANDERSON COUNTY WITHOUT THE UNANIMOUS CONSENT OF THE COUNTY'S LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 56-5-945. Notwithstanding another provision of law, the Department of Transportation shall not remove an electrically operated traffic-control signal in Anderson County without the unanimous consent of the Anderson County Legislative Delegation."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
