CONGRATULATING CAPTAIN RANDY MOSLEY OF THE NORTH AUGUSTA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY ON BEING NOMINATED FOR THE "EXCELLENCE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AWARD" OF THE AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR INDUSTRIAL SECURITY.

Whereas, Captain Randy Mosley has been with the North Augusta Department of Public Safety for over twenty years; he began his involvement with the youth of the community and with community organizations long before the term "community policing" became popular; and

Whereas, he has spent many personal hours volunteering in programs such as the North Augusta Yellow Jacket Club where he served as president and now serves on the Board of Directors; he is the current Chairman of the Aiken County Detention Center's Citizen Advisory Board; he volunteers his time by assisting the coaching staff at North Augusta High School with football, cross country, track, and other athletic events; in past years he has been involved with youth baseball, soccer, and the North Augusta High School Beta Club; and

Whereas, he supervises the Special Operations Division of the North Augusta Department of Public Safety, consisting of criminal investigations, school resource programs, and D.A.R.E.; and

Whereas, he is truly a model for police officers in today's community policing initiatives, and, because of his endeavors and superb service, he has been nominated for the "Excellence In Law Enforcement Award" of the American Society for Industrial Security; and

Whereas, Captain Mosley will be honored for his work by the Central Savannah River Chapter Number 182 of the American Society for Industrial Security at the Chapter's Sixth Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Night on May 22, 1997; and

Whereas, Captain Mosley renders not only dedicated service to the community in the endeavors and activities mentioned in this resolution but also outstanding professionalism to the North Augusta Department of Public Safety; and

Whereas, we are delighted to have this opportunity to recognize such an outstanding individual in this special manner. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate Captain Randy Mosley of the North Augusta Department of Public Safety on being nominated for the "Excellence In Law Enforcement Award" of the American Society for Industrial Security.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Captain Randy Mosley.
