AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 189 OF 1995, RELATING TO THE SPARTANBURG COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION, SO AS TO ALLOW A CANDIDATE FOR A SEAT ON THE SPARTANBURG COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION TO QUALIFY HIS CANDIDACY FOR A PLACE ON THE BALLOT BY THE FILING OF A STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Filing of Statement of Candidacy
SECTION 1. Act 189 of 1995 is amended by adding:
"Section 5A. Notwithstanding another provision of law, a candidate for a seat on the County Board of Education may qualify his candidacy for a place on the ballot for election by the filing of a statement of candidacy."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
