TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL "EAGLES" BOYS WRESTLING TEAM ON WINNING THE 1996-97 CLASS AA STATE WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the Chapin High School "Eagles" Boys Wrestling Team defeated Woodruff 105-95 to capture the 1996-97 Class AA State Wrestling Championship; and
Whereas, the Eagles also captured the 1995-96 State Wrestling Championship and have an overall three-year record of 39-15; and
Whereas, the Eagles were guided throughout their successful season by Head Coach Bob Taylor, along with Assistant Coach Ronnie Wessinger, and Athletic Trainer Fred Williams; and
Whereas, the Chapin High School Wrestling Team is comprised of the following fine young athletes: Joey Abstance, Ben Addy, Drew Allen, Hannon Bedenbaugh, Andrew Bemis, Buck Bickley, Luke Bugenske, Nathan Childs, Thomas Cromer, Ben Crosby, Anthony Delpriore, Brian Donlan, Jonathan Gowan, Mike Gowan, Thomas Griffin, Lamar Hardy, Jason Hazard, Jon Hollingsworth, Brett Huffstetler, Casey McFadden, Jesse Morris, Jeremy Moseley, Patrick Parada, Jason Powell, Matt Powell, Matt Richardson, Brian Shealy, Matt Shealy, Patrick Shirley, Brent Strickland, Jon Wical, and Wes Wilson; and
Whereas, the Eagles epitomized the spirit of a true winner due to their dedication and desire to succeed; and
Whereas, we are proud to be able to recognize and congratulate this talented group of young men on their victorious 1996-97 season. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina congratulate the Chapin High School "Eagles" Boys Wrestling Team on winning the 1996-97 Class AA State Wrestling Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head Coach Bob Taylor and John Anderson, Principal of Chapin High School.
