TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, RELATING TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACADEMY, E-911 OPERATORS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2181, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Department of Public Safety, relating to Criminal Justice Academy, E-911 operators, designated as Regulation Document Number 2181, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
Section 50 of Act 459 of 1996 amended Section 23-47-20(C)(15) so as to transfer the responsibility for training telecommunication officers or dispatchers from the Law Enforcement Training Council to the Department of Public Safety and required the Department of Public Safety to formulate regulations to administer the training of such individuals.
To satisfy the requirements of Section 23-47-20(C)(15), the department is promulgating the following regulations.
