A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 38-71-280 SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE ISSUANCE OF INSURANCE IDENTIFICATION CARDS USING A PERSON'S SOCIAL SECURITY IDENTIFICATION NUMBER AS PART OF THE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 38-71-280. Insurance identification cards may not be issued using all or a portion of a person's social security identification number."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
