A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE SINCEREST CONGRATULATIONS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO MR. AND MRS. CARL F. MCINTOSH ON THE JOYOUS OCCASION OF THEIR FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY ON JUNE 29, 1997, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES FOR A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE TOGETHER.

Whereas, the former Sonja Yvette Wannamaker was born in Calhoun County and Carl F. McIntosh is a native of Allendale County; and

Whereas, the paths of the two young people crossed for the first time in Orangeburg County in August of 1994; and

Whereas, their friendship blossomed into love and they vowed to spend their lives together; and

Whereas, on December 9, 1995, Yvette's birthday, they became engaged to be married; and

Whereas, they united their lives and hopes and dreams on June 29, 1996, Carl's birthday, in a lovely ceremony at Antisdale Chapel on the Benedict College Campus; and

Whereas, their wedding photo was featured in the Society World Section of JET Magazine, representing the union of two of South Carolina's prominent and public-minded families; and

Whereas, they now make their home in Columbia, where Carl is a staff attorney with the Legislative Council and Yvette is a nursing student at the University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, they nurture the spiritual side of their marriage through active membership in St. Paul Baptist Church in Winnsboro; and

Whereas, they look forward to growing old together as they pursue their lives together, Carl contributing his steadiness and sensitivity and Yvette adding her enthusiasm and excitement to a recipe for a long and joyous union. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina do hereby sincerely congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Carl F. McIntosh on the joyous occasion of their first wedding anniversary on June 29, 1997, and wish for them a long and happy life together, sharing their hopes and dreams.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. and Mrs. McIntosh.
