Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to Developmental Activities and Remedial Programs in Grades 1-8 (Repeal), designated as Regulation Document Number 2006, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
The repeal of Regulation 43-214, Developmental Activities and Remedial Programs in Grades 1-8, will allow the State Board of Education to eliminate unnecessary regulations where possible. This regulation requires school districts to budget $1.10 per pupil for first grade developmental activities. This regulation is no longer needed. Act 135 superseded this regulation.
