AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-360, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO VOTING PRECINCTS IN LAURENS COUNTY, SO AS TO CHANGE THE NAME OF WOODVILLE PRECINCT TO GREENPOND PRECINCT, DESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER ON WHICH THE LINES OF THESE PRECINCTS ARE DELINEATED, AND DIRECT THE DIVISION OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICAL SERVICES OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD TO CHANGE THE BOUNDARIES OF TWO PRECINCTS IN LAURENS COUNTY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Voting precinct; name changed

SECTION 1. Section 7-7-360 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 267 of 1996, is further amended to read:

Section 7-7-360. (A) In Laurens County there are the following precincts: Ward 1; Ward 2; Ward 3; Ward 4; Ward 5; Ward 6; Bailey; Trinity Ridge; Wattsville; Barksdale-Narnie; Madden; Clinton No. 1; Clinton No. 2; Joanna; Lydia Mill; Mountville; Jones Store; Owings; Gray Court; Greenpond; Cooks Store; Youngs; Long Branch; Cross Hill; Waterloo; Ekom; Mount Olive; Hickory Tavern; Princeton; Brewerton; Clinton Mill; Ora-Lanford; Martins Store-Poplar Springs.

(B) The precinct lines defining the precincts in subsection (A) are as shown on the official map designated as P-5998 and on file with the Division of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board and as shown on certified copies provided to the State Election Commission and the Board of Voter Registration of the county by the Division of Research and Statistical Services.

Boundaries of precinct moved

SECTION 2. The Division of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board is directed to reflect on the official map designated as P-5998 that the boundaries of Ward 1 Precinct in Laurens County are changed so that all of the property of the Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center is moved into Ward 6 Precinct in Laurens County.

Time effective

SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
