A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE RED DEVILS OF GREAT FALLS HIGH SCHOOL ON WINNING THE CLASS A BOYS BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 1998.

Whereas, the Red Devils of Great Falls High School captured the 1998 Class A state championship in boys basketball with an impressive 82-51 win over Scott's Branch High School on March 14, 1998, at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia; and

Whereas, this is the third consecutive Class A state title in boys basketball for the Red Devils, led by Head Coach John Smith, and the sixth title in the past seven years; and

Whereas, the Great Falls team exhibited outstanding talent, dedication, hard work, and unity during the 1997-98 season and is highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Red Devils of Great Falls High School on winning the 1998 Class A state championship in boys basketball.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the boys basketball team of Great Falls High School, in care of Head Coach John Smith.
