A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MR. AND MRS. ROBERT O. PARRY OF CHARLESTON UPON THE OCCASION OF THEIR SEVENTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY ON APRIL 29, 1998.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly with great pride and admiration have learned that Mr. and Mrs. Robert O. Parry of Charleston will be celebrating their seventieth wedding anniversary on April 29, 1998; and

Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Parry for health reasons now reside in Belmont, North Carolina, with their daughter, Mrs. Jocelyn Parry Estep, but lived and worked in South Carolina for eighty-five years prior to joining Mrs. Estep; and

Whereas, Robert and Marie Parry were born in 1905 and 1907, respectively, and married April 29, 1928, in Charleston, and throughout their adult life were faithful members of the Citadel Square Baptist Church and active and respected members of the Charleston community; and

Whereas, it is a tribute to both these amazing ninety-year-olds that they have weathered the storms of life together for almost three-quarters of a century; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to extend their very best wishes to this wonderful couple on the occasion of their upcoming seventieth wedding anniversary. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Robert O. Parry of Charleston upon the occasion of their seventieth wedding anniversary on April 29, 1998.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. and Mrs. Parry.
