A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF TOMMIE P. SETZLER OF NEWBERRY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Tommie Paysinger Setzler of Newberry died March 11, 1998, at the age of sixty-eight; and

Whereas, graveside services were conducted on Friday, March 13, 1998, at Rosemont Cemetery; and

Whereas, Mr. Setzler was born on February 8, 1930, in Newberry, the son of Thomas Edwin Setzler and Mildred Paysinger Setzler; and

Whereas, Mr. Setzler graduated from Newberry High School in 1947 and attended Newberry College; and

Whereas, he was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War; he served as office manager of Newberry Mills of Newberry and retired as business manager of the Kaywood Southern Division of Joanna Western Mills Company of Joanna; and

Whereas, he was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, where he was a former chairman of the church council, and he was a member and past president of the Newberry Lions Club; and

Whereas, Mr. Setzler is survived by his wife, the former Joyce Leslie, whom he married on February 14, 1951, in Geneva, New York; by two daughters, Mrs. William B. (Natalie) Davis of Summerton and Mrs. Gary (Pamela) Wise of Lilburn, Georgia; and by four grandchildren, William B. Davis, Jr., Benjamin Davis, Jane Marie Davis, and Jason Wise; and

Whereas, it is our desire that the members of Mr. Setzler's family and his many friends know that they are uppermost in our thoughts and have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Tommie P. Setzler of Newberry and extends sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Setzler's family.
