A HOUSE RESOLUTION

ESTABLISHING A COMMITTEE TO STUDY, EVALUATE, AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ON THE STATE HIGHWAY PATROL AND TRANSFERRING IT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO THE COUNTIES.

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

There is established a committee comprised of three members of the House Ways and Means Committee appointed by the chairman of the committee and four members of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House to study and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the State Highway Patrol and transferring the responsibilities, assets, and liabilities from the Department of Public Safety to the counties. The committee shall submit a report with recommendations to the House of Representatives before January 1, 1999.
