TO AMEND CHAPTER 23, TITLE 57, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO HIGHWAY BEAUTIFICATION AND SCENIC ROUTES, BY ADDING ARTICLE 18, SO AS TO DESIGNATE A PORTION OF SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY 61 IN CHARLESTON COUNTY AS A SOUTH CAROLINA SCENIC BYWAY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 23, Title 57 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
Section 57-23-800. The portion of South Carolina Highway 61, beginning at Church Creek Bridge and extending for a distance of ten miles north of the bridge, is designated a South Carolina Scenic Byway. Ashley River Road Scenic Byway is subject to the regulations promulgated by the South Carolina Department of Transportation and the South Carolina Scenic Highways Committee for Scenic Byways pursuant to Sections 57-3-110 and 57-23-60."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
