A HOUSE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF KENNETH HOLCOMBE, FORMER CHIEF OF POLICE OF THE CITY OF EASLEY, AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

Whereas, Kenneth Holcombe, former Chief of Police for the City of Easley, died recently at the age of sixty-five after a long illness; and

Whereas, Chief Holcombe began his law enforcement career with the Easley Police Department in 1956 and eventually became the chief, serving in that capacity from 1975 to 1989; and

Whereas, he helped to organize Camp Cove Creek as a way to provide teenage boys with guidance and to encourage them to do something positive with their lives; and

Whereas, Chief Holcombe was a model law enforcement officer and public servant; he carried out his duties with excellence and contributed generously of his time, talents, energy, and resources to his community; he was respected, admired, and loved in the City of Easley and throughout Pickens County and will be greatly missed; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives want Chief Holcombe's family and many friends to know that they are uppermost in their thoughts and have the members' deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Kenneth Holcombe, former Chief of Police of the City of Easley, and extends sympathy to his family and friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Chief Holcombe's family.
