A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND MRS. WOODELL WILLIAMS OF COLUMBIA FOR HER LIFETIME OF FAITHFUL AND DEVOTED SERVICE TO HER CHURCH, FAMILY, AND FELLOWMAN, ON THE OCCASION OF MOTHER'S DAY.

Whereas, Mrs. Woodell Williams of Columbia is a person who has devoted her life to the service of the Lord and her family; and

Whereas, she is a native of St. Matthews and has been a member of the New Ebenezer Baptist Church for more than thirty years where she has served in a number of capacities, including Pulpit Aid, the Den Mothers and Fathers Auxiliary, the Missionary Board, the Jubilee Choir, and in the Sunday School Program; and

Whereas, in addition to being an active member of the New Ebenezer Baptist Church, she is also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (Esther Chapter), the Household of Ruth, and other religious and community organizations dedicated to the service of mankind; and

Whereas, as Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 10, 1998, it is also appropriate to acknowledge Mrs. Williams' life as a mother and grandmother who has raised a family which is a credit not only to her but to the community as well; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, are desirous of publicly recognizing and commending Mrs. Williams for her lifetime of service as a Christian woman and mother of high moral character and faith. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, hereby commend Mrs. Woodell Williams of Columbia for her lifetime of faithful and devoted service to her church, family, and fellowman on the occasion of Mother's Day.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Williams.
