A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING AND THANKING DR. ELIZABETH BENTON FOR HER OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF AIKEN COUNTY AND PUBLIC EDUCATION IN SOUTH CAROLINA AND EXTENDING BEST WISHES FOR HAPPINESS UPON HER RETIREMENT.

Whereas, Dr. Elizabeth Benton has rendered superb service during a period spanning thirty-one years to the schools and school children of Aiken County and to public education overall; and

Whereas, Dr. Benton is retiring in 1998 as Assistant Superintendent of Area One Schools in the School District of Aiken County; and

Whereas, she is greatly respected and admired for her abilities, hard work, and leadership, and she is highly deserving of recognition for a job well done. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends and thanks Dr. Elizabeth Benton for her outstanding service to the School District of Aiken County and public education in the Palmetto State and extends best wishes for happiness upon her retirement

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Benton.
