A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING AND THANKING ROBERT H. LAWSON OF LOCKHART FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA AND THE TOWN OF LOCKHART, AND CONGRATULATING HIM UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE STATE TRANSPORT POLICE DIVISION.

Whereas, Robert H. Lawson of Lockhart, South Carolina, is married to Nancy Lawson; and

Whereas, he and Nancy are the very proud parents of a daughter, Kim Clayton, and a son, Tony Lawson; and

Whereas, they are the doting grandparents of Haley and Kris Clayton of Jonesville; and

Whereas, Robert H. Lawson has served the State of South Carolina since September 1, 1988, first with the South Carolina Public Service Commission and secondly with the South Carolina State Transport Police Division; and

Whereas, in that connection he attended the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and completed various courses focusing on vehicle inspections, drug interdiction, and hazardous materials and explosives transport; and

Whereas, he received the Safe Driver Award during his successful tenure with the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, Robert H. Lawson is retiring from his years of dedicated state service; and

Whereas, he will now have more time to devote to his loving family and his community work with the Lockhart Masonic Lodge, the Lockhart Community Club, and Lockhart First Baptist Church. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That Robert H. Lawson of Lockhart is hereby commended and thanked by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina for his years of service to the State and the Town of Lockhart, and congratulated on the occasion of his retirement from the South Carolina State Transport Police Division.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Robert H. Lawson.
