TO COMMEND THE HONORABLE THOMAS W. GREENE, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NORTH AUGUSTA, FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED CAREER OF PUBLIC SERVICE UPON HIS RETIREMENT AS MAYOR.
Whereas, the members of the Senate have learned with deep regret that the Honorable Thomas W. Greene, Mayor of the City of North Augusta, is retiring from this office; and
Whereas, public service is a special calling, and those public officials who serve at the local level more so than at other levels get to know the citizens of their community and their problems and concerns; and
Whereas, throughout his tenure, Mayor Greene in a very difficult job has earned the respect and admiration of all with whom he has come into contact and has a deserved reputation for honesty, integrity, and ability; and
Whereas, the members of the Senate, by this resolution, would like publicly to recognize and thank this truly outstanding South Carolinian for his service to the City of North Augusta upon the occasion of his retirement as mayor. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate commend the Honorable Thomas W. Greene, Mayor of the City of North Augusta, for his distinguished career of public service upon his retirement as mayor.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Honorable Thomas W. Greene.
