TO HONOR WENDY MICHELLE BUTLER WALTON AND THANK HER FOR SIX YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE AND WISH HER WELL ON THE OCCASION OF HER MOVE TO FLORIDA.
Whereas, Wendy Michelle Butler Walton was born on June 17, 1971, in Beaufort, South Carolina and graduated from Beaufort High School in 1989; and
Whereas, her ability, intelligence, drive and dedication to excellence put her in that select and special group so committed to their studies, that Wendy was able to graduate from the University of South Carolina in only three years, finishing with a degree in history in May of 1992; and
Whereas, while accomplishing her remarkable academic achievement Wendy began her career at the South Carolina Senate in January of 1991, being appointed as a Committee page for Senator Jim Waddell and therefore continuing her service as a page for Senate Clerk Frank Caggiano and in July of 1993, assuming new duties as a Legislative Aide for the Senate Clerk's Office; and
Whereas, because of her experience, strong work ethic, superior abilities and dedication to her job, Wendy was hired by Senators Ty Courtney and Bob Waldrep as their secretary in April of 1994 and later in November of 1995, was selected to join the Office of Senate Research as Chief Administrative Assistant; and
Whereas, Wendy is an extremely intelligent, dependable, responsible and conscientious person whose values and dedication on and off the job serve as an example to all Senate employees; and
Whereas, Wendy's bright smile and pleasant demeanor have always been appreciated and will forever be missed by every member of the South Carolina Senate and staff. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate and staff, by this resolution, hereby honor Wendy Michelle Butler Walton and thank her for six years of dedicated service to the South Carolina Senate and wish her well on the occasion of her move to Florida.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Wendy Michelle Butler Walton.
