EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SENATE FOR THE DISTINGUISHED AND ABLE SERVICE OF MR. RICK DANIEL OF IRMO, AS PRESIDENT OF THE GUN OWNERS OF SOUTH CAROLINA (GO-SC), AS HE COMPLETES HIS SIXTH TERM.
Whereas, the members of the Senate note that Mr. Rick Daniel of Irmo has given years of distinguished and able service as he completes his sixth term as President of the Gun Owners of South Carolina (GO-SC), the official National Rifle Association state association for South Carolina; and
Whereas, during his tenure, GO-SC was the NRA-ILA Grassroots Organization of the Year for 1996 and was the recipient of the Legislative/Political Action Achievement Award on multiple occasions; and
Whereas, in his work for GO-SC, his support, expertise, and "savvy" were instrumental in smoothing the passage of the "Right to Carry Law", and as an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor, State Certified Concealed Weapon Instructor, and NRA Certified "Refuse to be a Victim" Instructor, he has imparted to uncounted South Carolinians the basics of proper firearm use and safety; and
Whereas, this service as president of GO-SC is but one aspect of the contributions he makes to the community in his professional and personal life as an employee in the State Treasurer's Office, as legislative chairman of the Irmo Elementary School PTA Executive Board, Lexington County Republican Party Executive Committee, a communicant at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (PCA), and in countless other types of community service; and
Whereas, it is appropriate for members of the Senate to pause in their deliberations so that they may recognize the outstanding qualities and contributions of so distinguished a son of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate hereby express appreciation for the distinguished and able service of Mr. Rick Daniel of Irmo, as president of the Gun Owners of South Carolina (GO-SC), as he finishes his sixth term.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Rick Daniel.
