Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

God, the Giver of every good and perfect gift, shape our lives of service to God and to mankind. Deliver us from the trivial things that impair our doing Your will. Cover our wrong doings with Your forgiveness and make us strong in all our weaknesses. Lift us up, set our feet upon high places, and guide us toward goals which belong to the people whose God is the Lord.

Be with us this day that whatever light may shine or any shadow fall, that we may be children of the light.

We pray in the Name of Him Who is the Light of the world. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.

At 10:05 A.M. the House in accordance with the ruling of the SPEAKER adjourned to meet at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, April 22.
