S. 402 -- Senator Bryan: A BILL TO AMEND ACT 779 OF 1988, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO LAURENS COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD OF TRUSTEES, TO PROVIDE THAT IF THE NUMBER OF QUALIFIED CANDIDATES OFFERING FOR ELECTION IS EQUAL TO THE NUMBER OF EXISTING VACANCIES, THEN THE CANDIDATES MUST BE DEEMED ELECTED WITHOUT AN ELECTION BEING HELD.

MOTION ADOPTED

On motion of Senators PASSAILAIGUE, FORD, McCONNELL, ROSE, WASHINGTON, MESCHER, WILLIAMS and RAVENEL, with unanimous consent, the Senate stood adjourned out of respect to the memory of Mr. Charlie Hall, 72 years young, who served over the years as a broadcaster, program director, and weatherman at Station WCSC of Charleston, S.C.

ADJOURNMENT

At 11:25 A.M., on motion of Senator JACKSON, the Senate adjourned under the provisions of Rule 1(b) to meet next Tuesday, February 25, 1997, at 11:00 A.M.
