CONGRATULATING MR. C. FREDRIC MARCINAK OF WALHALLA FOR BEING ELECTED BY ACCLAMATION AS GOVERNOR OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA STUDENT LEGISLATURE FOR 1999-2000 AND WISHING HIM WELL IN HIS TERM AS GOVERNOR AND IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Mr. C. Fredric Marcinak of Walhalla has been elected by acclamation to serve as Governor for the South Carolina Student Legislature for 1999-2000; and

Whereas, he is a junior at the Citadel, majoring in history, with a 4.0 grade point average which places him in the honored and esteemed position of being first in his class; and

Whereas, in addition to having the final role in the legislative process by signing and vetoing bills, he will also oversee the operation of the student legislature, which is comprised of approximately one hundred fifty students from colleges and universities throughout the State, and will administer the legislature's twenty thousand dollar budget; and

Whereas, being elected Governor is the crowning culmination to Mr. Marcinak's outstanding tenure in the South Carolina Student Legislature and a testimonial to his exceptional leadership skills, personal dedication, and commitment to excellence; and

Whereas, Mr. Marcinak has served for three years in the Student Legislature and previously held the positions of Sergeant-at-Arms, Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, and President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and while serving as a senator, his contributions were recognized by receiving the "Best Senator Award"; and

Whereas, the General Assembly is pleased to have this opportunity to recognize one of South Carolina's most outstanding young men and a promising future leader of this State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate Mr. C. Fredric Marcinak of Walhalla for being elected by acclamation as Governor of the South Carolina Student Legislature for 1999-2000 and wish him well in his term of governor and in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. C. Fredric Marcinak.
