A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

HONORING DANIELLE DAVIS OF GREER, THE REIGNING "MISS SOUTH CAROLINA", AND RECOGNIZING HER CONTRIBUTION TO THE STATE AS A GOODWILL AMBASSADOR AND ROLE MODEL AND TO REQUEST THAT TWO SIGNS BE PLACED AT THE CITY LIMITS OF GREER HONORING MISS DAVIS.

Whereas, Miss Danielle Davis of Greer represents our State as the reigning Miss South Carolina; and

Whereas, Miss Davis' platform as Miss South Carolina is promoting volunteerism and teaching children the importance and benefits of volunteering; and

Whereas, Miss Davis has completed four thousand hours volunteering in the last two years; and

Whereas, Miss Davis has founded an organization titled "Each One ... Reach One" and its goal is leading others to help society by volunteering; and

Whereas, Miss Davis excels in the academic sphere where she is working toward a degree in vocal performance, she is also a caring and generous human being of deeply-rooted family values and impeccably high standards. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly recognize Miss Danielle Davis of Greer, the reigning "Miss South Carolina," as a goodwill ambassador and role model for our State and a representative of the Palmetto State who is making a difference, and by this resolution, request that the Greenville County Transportation Committee erect two signs at the city limits of Greer stating:

"WELCOME TO GREER, SOUTH CAROLINA

HOME OF DANIELLE DAVIS,

MISS SOUTH CAROLINA 1999"

The city of Greer must approve the size, design and location of the signs, the cost not to exceed five hundred dollars.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Miss Danielle Davis and the Greenville County Transportation Committee.
