A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO OFFER THE SINCERE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO SERGEANT MATTHEW BRAXTON OF AIKEN PUBLIC SAFETY IN RECOGNITION OF HIS TALENT, CREATIVITY, AND EXPERTISE IN DEVELOPING THE WEB SITE FOR THE SECOND JUDICIAL CIRCUIT YOUTH COUNCIL.

Whereas, Sergeant Matthew Braxton readily accepted a challenge to create an invaluable service which eases the transfer of information to all agencies in the Second Judiciary Circuit that dedicate their services to the development and the empowerment of our youth who may be at risk of delinquent behavior; and

Whereas, Sergeant Braxton devoted countless hours so that the web site is an area for all youth-based organizations and councils to interact through E-mail, post their calendars, distribute information, and gather data pertaining to our youth. The participating partners range from the religious community, Hispanic community, health care, law enforcement, school peer mediators, Boys and Girls Club, Aiken Boxing Club, and Teen Pregnancy Prevention Council; and

Whereas, Sergeant Braxton's volunteer spirit allows the Second Judicial Circuit Youth Council of Aiken, Bamberg, and Barnwell counties to be placed on the Internet in a professional manner; and

Whereas, Sergeant Braxton's web site has enabled the youth and parents in these counties to collaborate and create partnerships which has enlarged the invaluable services offered to our youth; and

Whereas, the General Assembly is tremendously proud of Sergeant Matthew Braxton; he is an outstanding law enforcement officer; he has given freely and most generously of his time and talents to develop this web site; and we are greatly pleased to have this opportunity to salute him for his many accomplishments. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina hereby offer their sincere congratulations to Sergeant Matthew Braxton of Aiken Public Safety in recognition of his talent, creativity, and expertise in developing the web site for the Second Judicial Circuit Youth Council.
