A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE OF JANIE S. ROTHELL IN HER THIRTY-THREE YEAR CAREER WITH THE OCONEE COUNTY OFFICE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AND WISHING HER GOOD HEALTH AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly note that Janie S. Rothell is retiring at the end of June, 2000, after a thirty-three year career in the Oconee County Office of the Department of Social Services; and

Whereas, in this career, she has worked in adult and children's services, served as an advocate for the children and less fortunate residents of Oconee County; and

Whereas, Ms. Rothell was on the original Board of Oconee County AID and served as its chairperson for many years; and

Whereas, in addition to her work career, in her personal life she has been involved in many community service activities and has been active in church work; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations so that they might honor the service of so distinguished and dedicated a public servant. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, express their appreciation for the distinguished service of Janie S. Rothell in her thirty-three year career with the Oconee County Office of the Department of Social Services on the occasion of her retirement and wish her good health and happiness in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Janie S. Rothell.
