A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 31-17-370, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGN, DISPLAY, AND REGULATION OF MOBILE HOME MOVING PERMITS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A MOBILE HOME MOVING PERMIT MAY BE MAINTAINED IN THE POSSESSION OF THE MOBILE HOME TRANSPORTER.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 31-17-370 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 181 of 1993, is further amended to read:

"Section 31-17-370. The moving permit shall must accompany the mobile home while it is being moved. The moving permit shall must be designed and displayed or maintained in the possession of the mobile home transporter in accordance with regulations to be issued by the South Carolina Department of Revenue, which shall adopt such regulations as may be necessary to insure uniform licensing and moving permit procedures. It shall be is the responsibility of the mobile home transporter that the required moving permit is be properly displayed properly or maintained in his possession and accompanies accompany the mobile home while it is being moved."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
