A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-3-1961 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT ANY HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE IS AVAILABLE FOR USE BY ANY PERSON AUTHORIZED TO USE A HANDICAPPED PLACARD AND TO PROVIDE EXCEPTIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 56-3-1961. A handicapped parking space is available for use by a person authorized to use a handicapped placard. The provisions of this section do not apply to numbered spaces reserved for use by only one person."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
