A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE LUISA CHING OF ANDERSON, SOUTH CAROLINA, FOR HER DEDICATED EFFORTS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE AND SUPPORT FOR THE STATE'S PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM AND ON THE OCCASION OF HER RECOGNITION BY J. C. PENNEY CO., INC. WITH ITS "JAMES CASH PENNEY AWARD FOR THE EDUCATION CATEGORY".

Whereas, education is a top priority for South Carolinians committed to improving the quality of life in their State; and

Whereas, students at McCants Middle School benefit from the leadership of Luisa Ching who chairs the school's Enrichment Program; and

Whereas, the J.C. Penney Co., Inc. recognized associate Luisa Ching for her commitment to education by presenting her a crystal award and making a $10,000 contribution to the school's PTA; and

Whereas, the corporation also officially awarded Luisa Ching the "James Cash Penney Award for the Education Category". Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate congratulate Luisa Ching for being one of only three individuals recognized nationally by the J.C. Penney Co., Inc. for its "James Cash Penney Award for Community Service" from a group of more than 700 associates and retirees who were nominated for the awards.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Luisa Ching of Anderson.
