TO CONGRATULATE LOLLIE B. HARPER FOR HER LIFELONG PROMOTION OF PROFESSIONALISM AND SUCCESSFUL PARTICIPATION IN THE FIELD OF ACCOUNTING AND TO RECOGNIZE HER DEDICATION AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ACCOUNTANTS OF SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, Lollie B. Harper is a native of Columbia, South Carolina, and a graduate of the University of South Carolina at Columbia; and
Whereas, Lollie B. Harper has faithfully served as executive director of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants from 1972 to 1998; and
Whereas, under her direction the Association has grown from 500 members to more than 3,000 members; and
Whereas, in 1993 the Association recognized her accomplishments when they established in her name a scholarship for accounting students in South Carolina; and
Whereas, Lollie B. Harper is a former president of both the S.C. Society of Association Executives and the national CPA Society Executives Association; and
Whereas, Lollie B. Harper was the 1994-96 District Governor for Zonta International, whose projects include scholarships to women in aerospace studies and a partnership with the United Nations to assist women and children in a number of countries. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly express their gratitude and congratulate Lollie B. Harper for her lifelong achievements in the field of accounting in the State of South Carolina and beyond.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Lollie B. Harper.
