A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND, CONGRATULATE, AND HONOR PAT EARLE, AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION TEACHER AND FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA CHAPTER ADVISOR AT MCBEE HIGH SCHOOL, UPON BEING NAMED THE OUTSTANDING AGRICULTURAL EDUCATOR IN SOUTH CAROLINA FOR 1998.

Whereas, Pat Earle has received the prestigious award of being named the Outstanding Agricultural Educator in South Carolina for 1998 from the South Carolina Agricultural Educators Association; and

Whereas, this award is justly given to Mr. Earle because under his leadership the McBee Future Farmers Chapter has been named one of the Outstanding FFA Chapters in the nation every year since 1989; and

Whereas, more than fifty percent of the student body at McBee High School enroll in his agricultural education classes and more than half of these students are on the high school honor roll; and

Whereas, as a result of his teaching ability, the FFA members at McBee High School have won numerous state awards and competed in national finals for a number of years; and

Whereas, a number of his students has served as state FFA Association officers, and Pat Earle has also served the state association by presently serving as a member of the South Carolina FFA Association Advisory Council and by being on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina FFA Foundation; and

Whereas, Pat Earle has been recognized as an outstanding teacher on many occasions in previous years, most notably by being recognized as Chesterfield County's outstanding teacher and as the Outstanding Agricultural Education teacher in the Southeast; and

Whereas, this distinguished Chesterfield native is a graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. and Master's degree in Agricultural Education who presently serves as a board member of Clemson University's National Agricultural Alumni Association; and

Whereas, Pat Earle has also served as the president of the South Carolina Agricultural Educators Association and the South Carolina Vocational Educators Association; and

Whereas, Mr. Earle is a devoted husband, and along with his wife, the proud parents of twins who are members of Future Farmers of America ; and

Whereas, the Earle family are active members of the First Baptist Church of McBee; and

Whereas, it is a privilege for the General Assembly to recognize this outstanding agricultural educator and leader who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of his students by helping them develop their potential for leadership, personal growth, and career success. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly commend, congratulate, and honor Pat Earle, agricultural education teacher and Future Farmers of America chapter advisor at McBee High School, upon being named the outstanding Agricultural Educator in South Carolina for 1998.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Pat Earle.
