A HOUSE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING JOYCE TURBEVILLE OF SUMTER COUNTY FOR BEING NAMED THE 1999 HUMAN RESOURCES PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE COUNCIL OF THE SOCIETY FOR HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT.

Whereas, Joyce Turbeville of Sumter County, Human Resources Manager for Kaydon Corporation, was named the 1999 Human Resources Professional of the Year by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the South Carolina State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management; and

Whereas, she earned a bachelor's degree in human resource administration from St. Leo's College in Florida and has twenty-one years of experience as a human resources professional; and

Whereas, Ms. Turbeville, a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources, has coordinated and implemented the human resources function for two plant start-ups in the United States and has assisted in the start-up of a facility in Mexico; and

Whereas, her outstanding communication and team-building skills and her mastery of a broad range of disciplines have been recognized through other local awards and by receiving the St. Leo College 1997 Thaddeus Tedrowe Award for Outstanding Scholarly Achievement; and

Whereas, Ms. Turbeville is an innovative leader in human resource practices, is committed to excellence, and dedicated to maintaining the highest ethical standards. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Joyce Turbeville of Sumter County for being named Human Resources Professional of the Year by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the South Carolina State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Joyce Turbeville.
