A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 59-149-50, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO ELIGIBILITY FOR LEGISLATIVE INCENTIVES FOR FUTURE EXCELLENCE (LIFE) SCHOLARSHIPS, SO AS TO DEFINE A 3.0 CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE AS AN EIGHTY OR ABOVE ON A HUNDRED-POINT SCALE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 59-149-50 of the 1976 Code, as added by Act 418 of 1998, is further amended by adding:

"(E) For the purposes of this chapter, a 3.0 cumulative grade point average is equal to an eighty on a one hundred-point grading scale."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
