AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 499 OF 1998, RELATING TO THE DISTRIBUTION OF FOUNDATION MONIES BY THE SPARTANBURG COUNTY EDUCATION OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE DISTRIBUTION IS BASED ON THE PREVAILING FUNDING FORMULA UTILIZED DURING THE 1993-94 SCHOOL YEAR.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Basis of distribution of minimum foundation funds
SECTION 1. Section 4 of Act 499 of 1998 is amended to read:
"Section 4. The Spartanburg County Education Oversight Committee shall ensure that the minimum foundation monies are distributed on a fair and equitable basis, based on the prevailing funding formula utilized during the 1993-94 school year for the distribution of minimum foundation funds. For this purpose, funding derived from the minimum foundation monies must be distributed annually to each of the seven school districts by the Spartanburg County Treasurer's Office in accordance with the formula guidelines as directed by the oversight committee."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
