TO REQUEST THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO NAME THE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH CAROLINA STATE HIGHWAYS 162 AND 165 IN HOLLYWOOD IN HONOR OF MR. HERBERT GADSON.
Whereas, Mr. Herbert Gadson serves with distinction as Mayor of Hollywood, South Carolina; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, believe it would be an appropriate honor for this outstanding South Carolinian if the intersection of South Carolina State Highways 162 and 165 in Hollywood was named the "Herbert Gadson Intersection." Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly request the Department of Transportation to name the intersection of South Carolina State Highways 162 and 165 in Hollywood as the "Herbert Gadson Intersection" and to install appropriate markers or signs at this highway intersection as the Department of Transportation considers appropriate.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation and Mr. Gadson.
